What do you like about being a member of the Institute?
I enjoy reading and hearing from other like-minded advisers who are dedicated to excellence and to keeping their knowledge up to date.
What is the best financial advice you have received or given?
To invest in yourself, and to focus on the quality of people with whom you spend your time.
What is a challenge in the industry right now?
A major issue is the aging of the financial adviser workforce. It's clear that the industry needs more young talent.
What are your favorite podcast(s) you are listening to?
The Lex Fridman, Masters in Business, and Meb Faber Show podcasts have some wonderful business and finance guests. Recently, I listened to Spellcaster (The rise and fall of Sam Bankman-Fried). It was well put together and is a remarkable story
What is something not many people know about you?
I very much enjoy exercise and fitness. I often challenge myself to learn new skills and approaches.
Is there a specific way your designation has enhanced your career?
With a professional designation, like the CPWA, clients know that you are skilled in areas that are important to them.
What is your favorite book or what are you currently reading?
I am looking forward to receiving a copy of the 7th edition of Security Analysis. I am a big value investing fan, and I look forward to seeing the updated content in this newest edition.
What are you most grateful for in your life?
I have so much to be thankful for: having a wonderful family, being healthy, doing a meaningful job that I enjoy, and building a business that creates opportunities and career paths for others.
